Dear Diary, May 14th, 1805
The Captains worries have increased about our journey up and across the Rockies as winter is nearing. If it were to snow in the Rockies, I'm afraid I'd freeze to death, and we would loose a great number of men. As we stared at the mountains, we lost hope for our success. All we can do is do our best.

Amanda, you write so beautifully, and in the case of the jerky, you write so understatedly. Your description of the White Cliffs gives their majesty the justice they deserve. And then when you put your quill down, you get out your cooking spoon and make everyone some buffalo meatballs. Thanks for your indredible dedication and hard work.
